Publication procedures
General information
Philosophica publishes only original papers written in Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, Italian or German. Contributions should address philosophical subjects or have a philosophical approach.
The journal publishes both contributed peer reviewed papers and invited papers. Submissions are double-blind reviewed before acceptance.
Philosophica also publishes uncategorized works, i.e. book reviews, announcements of colloquia and other materials, such as translations.
By the acceptance of this editorial policy, the author grants the journal the right of first publication. Authors may use their own material in other publications provided that Philosophica is acknowledged as the original place of publication, and the Editorial Board is notified in writing and in advance.
The views expressed are those of the authors and may not necessarily reflect the views of the Editorial Board.
All issues of Philosophica are made freely available online one year after printed publication.

Citations
The editorial team recommends the author-title system (also known as the MLA style), which has been used in Philosophica since its inception in 1993.

The full bibliographic information is provided in an alphabetically ordered reference list at the end of the paper, under the label List of references or Bibliography (Times New Roman, 11).
