Elisabete Sousa got her Ph.D. in Literary Theory in 2006, with a thesis, published in 2008, on practical musical criticism by Kierkegaard («The Musical Erotic», first chapter of Either/Or, Part I) Schumann, Berlioz and Liszt, bringing into light Kierkegaard’s knowledge of music and musicians, and the role of music in his frame of mind. She has written several articles and lectured on these topics, and also on the relations between musical and literary art making, as well as Kierkegaard’s reception.She joined CFUL in 2007, and is a member of the translation team for the works of Kierkegaard; she has translated Fear and Trembling (2009) and is currently working on the translation of Either/Or. The first part was published in 2013 and the second part is scheduled for 2015.
