Ana Rita Ferreira received her Ph.D from the University of Lisbon in 2012, with a thesis titled Saint Augustine and the limits of Aesthetics. She is a member of the Center of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon, where she works within the research line of History of Philosophy and serves as editor of the peer-reviewed magazine Philosophica. She is also an integrated member of the Research Group NUPPE (Institute of Arts of the Federal University of Uberlândia - Brazil), committed to the academic research within the fields of art history and art education. In 2015, she lectured Portuguese Literature (Portugisiskspråklige romaner fra romantikken til vår egen tid) at the Department of Literature, Area Studies and European Languages (ILOS) of the University of Oslo. She currently works as consultant at Departementenes sikkerhets- og serviceorganisasjon (DSS).
